Word Salad Communications ("WSC") is a private company that provides a supportive framework for artistic endeavors. It is a transparent entity that passes on all profits from its enterprises to the artists who engage its services, and charges no fees except insofar as may be needed to cover precise, audited expenses.
WSC was founded on May 17, 1990, in order to produce a literary journal. Since then, its activities have expanded to encompass the publication of newsletters and web pages, the production of advertisements, and the meticulous archiving of controlled works. The company motto (see above), designed to reflect these gradual developments, is loosely translated from the Latin as: to create, to publish, and to maintain.
The company is based in Massachusetts.

Rather than merely reformat old printed works for the internet, the WSC web presence is almost exclusively comprised of works designed specifically for SGML/HTML display. Care is being taken to permit maximum compatibility with current graphical and text-based browsers without sacrificing content or expression. Webpages are currently formatted to meet or exceed the standards of HTML 4.0 Transitional.

All images and webpages comprising the Word Salad Communications website were made using Apple Macintoshes, are de-enhanced for text-only web-browsers, and conform to the tongue-in-cheek specifications of the DECAF web-publishing philosophy.
